Voki
Have you heard of Voki? Voki is an online tool that converts text-to-speech. Students create an avatar and then type what they want the avatar to say.
My students created story problems, and then created an avatar and typed their story problem in Voki. Today, we went back to the computer lab and listen to each other's Vokis. On a recording sheet I made, they wrote the addtion or subtraction sentence needed to solve the story problem. They had so much fun creating the vokis and being able to listen to them today!

This must be what a friend of mine was telling me about. What a fantastic idea! I may have to use this in the computer lab next year. Thanks for sharing it. I'm your newest follower. Just discovered your blog thru the Guided Math book study.
